RISK-SENSITIVE URBAN PLANNING
Study proposing the planning of the Santa Rosa de Pomasqui neighborhood within the framework of Tomorrow’s Cities' DSE program, which aims to define areas for population development through three urban approaches that enable residential consolidation, prioritize risk management as a planning element, and preserve the existing natural heritage.
The project prioritized the social communication of the risk to the residents of Santa Rosa as a mechanism for transferring knowledge with the aim of appropriation of the project.
In a first phase, an urban diagnosis and assessment of the current urban plan are established.
PHASE 1
PHASE 2
Subsequently, urban quality indicators are proposed for informal settlements, identifying the indicator name, objective, relation to risk (where applicable), assessment area, suggested assessment period, evaluation method, and desirable indicator values.
PHASE 3
Finally, an urban planning model is established, considering the risk axis as a cross-cutting element.
